Dream come true as I made it through Q-School Stage II
I am so excited to share the big news with you that I made it to the final stage of LPGA Q-School 2022 by finishing T25 at Q-School Stage II in Venice, FL. This means I have guaranteed full status on the Epson Tour for 2023, will be able to apply for a P1 Visa that allows me to move to the U.S. for many years to come, and also have the opportunity to play for starts on the LPGA Tour for 2023. This has been a huge goal of mine this past year and now I find myself right where I want to be for next year. The final stage is called Q-Series and will be over 8 rounds in Mobile and Dothan, Alabama. There I will compete to finish among the top45 that will get LPGA status for the upcoming year.
I played very steady golf throughout the week in the crazy wind, rain, and cooler weather, and shot rounds of 73,73,72,74 for +4 and finishing T25. It is always interesting how you perform in new environments and pressured situations, and I think I handled it way better than the first stage. I feel like my driver is in a very good spot and how good I score is really up to my putting on a day to day basis. Now I have a week in Nipomo, CA with some practice and thanksgiving celebration before heading to Alabama and Q-Series and my focus will definitely be on putting. After Alabama, I will go back home to Sweden as I have promised my family to celebrate Christmas with them. I also withdrew from the Final stage of the LET Qualifier as I want to focus on one tour and stay in the U.S. for the majority of next year.
I am so thankful for my entire team and sponsors who are backing me year around. I also want to give a big shoutout to my caddie, Anton, who grinded out the second stage with me and will also join me in Alabama. We were such a great team out on the course and communicated very well, making me commit to every shot. Finally, I want to thank my host family for the week, Jackie and Darrell Rupnow. You know some times in life, you have people entering your life and make such an impact that you feel like you’ve known them forever and they become a part of your family. This was such a time from the moment we met. I felt so at peace and definitely had the best circumstances to succeed for the week thanks to them. I think having a host family is one of the coolest things about being on this journey as a golf professional. You get to be a part of someone else’s lives for a week and hear their stories instead of being alone in a hotel room. It puts life and golf in perspective and I just love getting to know new people around the world.
