On the podium in pro debut
Exciting few days this past week! Turning pro, becoming a PGA member, getting sponsored by Dig Snacks (my favorite snacks ever!), and playing my first event as a pro golfer. I played in the first Future Series event of the year in Sweden at Abbekås Open. It is a course just a 5 iron from the ocean in the very south part of Sweden where the wind is known for making the course tough. I played some solid golf the first day but didn’t have the breaks with me to score very low. However, I came in with the second best score after the first day, only one stroke behind the lead. The second day was easier conditions and I had a good first 9 holes and solo 2nd going into the back 9, still one stroke behind the leader. After a miss left into a hazard on 13 and a few birdies by the leader, the victory was out of reach. I finished the event in 3rd place, again after a very unfortunate breaks on the greens down the stretch and solid play by the other girls. I rolled the ball very well and struck it well of the tee, and I feel that I’m close to getting it done.
Next tournament will be in Switzerland, my first tournament on LETAS. Now I will focus on cleaning up my swing a little bit after 2 very windy tournaments and making putts inside 10 ft. We are getting there. And on the positive note, I got my first pay check!
