3rd at Hovås Open
Back on the podium in Sweden after playing 54 holes (36+18) in extreme wind and rain. I have never been more grateful for having Abacus as one of my sponsors this year with their awesome rain gear, haha! Göteborg Golf Club is the oldest course in Sweden and is located right by the ocean in the small village called Hovås (also the village my mom grew up in). It is very short, and can be a course where you shoot 10 under par if the conditions are easy since you have wedges in to almost all greens, except for the crazy par 3’s and the water holes. However, the weather made it such a challenge as well as insane hole locations Niclas Fasth had signed… It forced us all to think and play strategically smart to be able to score low. 2-3 yards from the edges of the greens and on every single ridge and slope you could find, that’s where the pins were, and I am very happy that my putting has started to fall into place. I finished 3rd after shooting 73,71,74, and the best reward was to see 87-year-old grandpa walking up the stairs to be at the prize ceremony afterward to watch me get a prize. So sweet!
