3rd straight top-10 finish on LETAS

I’m back home after yet another successful week on the road, this time in Jönköping, Sweden. It was the last tournament in Sweden for this year (yes the cold weather is creeping up on us…), and a perfect place to finish it at Jönköpings Golf Club. It was a tough course off the tee, narrow at its places and with OB stakes on almost every hole. It also had quite a lot of blind shots, so it required some good shot making and playing smart golf. I got there on the Monday afternoon and practiced a little on the greens and walked the course. It seemed very tricky and with lots of hills and steep slopes if you missed the greens. On the Tuesday I had the opportunity to play in the pro-am and was in Team Ahlsell, and we had ourselves an amazing day out there. We all contributed and played some really good golf, we thrived in each other’s company, and just had a lot of fun together. I shot a bogey free 65 and we won the pro-am by miles!

Fast forward to tournament day and I felt my body was incredibly tired. Maybe the last 5 weeks had taken its toll on me finally, but I was determined to fight through it and make the best out of it. After the solid day yesterday I suddenly put some expectations on myself too and I didn’t quite allow myself to miss, which usually leads you to missing more often anyway. Ball striking was off but I saved many strokes with amazing putting. I made a double and a triple bogey- scores that usually take you out of the competition right away, but I kept fighting and came in on +2 for the day. Some great birdies on the way in really helped the score and I knew I could still turn this thing around. The second day was a lot better ball striking, my irons were pretty hot, but less putts were dropping. It was honestly a quite boring scoring round of 14 pars, 2 bogeys and 2 birdies for even par. The last day got a little more interesting to follow. It was solid and consistent golf straight through and I made some longer putts for birdies. I shot 67 after making a little back-nine-charge with birdie on 11 and 12 and eagle on 14. I had many putts that were great birdie opportunities on the back nine that I couldn’t convert but I climbed the leaderboard to finish 6th for the week and get my third straight top-10 finish on LETAS.

Now it’s time for some well needed rest from tournament golf and focus on recovery, build up, strengthen my body for the fall, and keep on practicing and prepping for Q-School stage II.

if you know Swedish there is also an interview out with me where I talk mainly about Q-School on Klubbtv.nu on this link https://www.klubbtv.nu/#parts/456611
