Magical Kenya Ladies Open

What an experience! I am currently back home in Sweden after 9 days in Kenya, my first tournament for the year, and my second event ever on the Ladies European Tour. I played in the 2024 Magical Kenya Ladies Open at Vipingo Ridge on the east coast of Kenya, just north of Mombasa. It was a very eye-opening experience that I’m grateful for.

Golf wise, it was a very typical first event of the year… Some great things, some things to work on, and a status check for where we’re at. I shot -1,-1,+10,-1. It was overall solid golf in a windy, warm and extremely humid Kenya, and scores were pretty high throughout the entire field. I was placed 7th after the first 2 rounds, then started with the worst slip ever where I almost lost the club because of the sweaty grip during the 3rd round. Unfortunately 3 similar tee shots during that round made it impossible to recover from and I have 3 big numbers during the 3rd round. I learned from my mistake and used rain gloves on both hands during the 4th round to bounce back with another round under par. Overall, pretty happy with where we are at, even though it is very annoying missing out on lots of placements during the first event of the year. A first cut made, and I am very excited for the next event in Morocco February 22-24.
